Awards for Suunto Core and Lumi

Suunto Core and Suunto Lumi have received two prestigious awards in the USA. The National Geographic Adventure Magazine honored Suunto Lumi with the Best of Adventure Gear award, while Men’s Journal recognized Suunto Core as Gear of the Year. Suunto Lumi and Suunto Core are the latest additions to Suunto’s range of Outdoor wristop computers. Both models combine modern design with versatile properties. Suunto Lumi is the first Outdoor wristop computer specifically designed for women.

Recognition for Wilson Staff Ci7 irons

Wilson Staff Ci7 irons received the renowned Club of the Year award in Golf Magazine’s 2008 club test. The test panel gave the Ci7 the highest rankings for look and feel. The panel explained its decision, among other things, by characterizing the Ci7 as a “terrific combo of tour-style feel with game-improvement forgiveness.”

Precor’s AMT honored in Belgium

Precor’s AMT (Adaptive Motion Trainer®), which instantly adapts to the exerciser’s stride motion and speed, was honored as the best product innovation at the Fit-2PRO trade show for fitness professionals in Belgium. Precor President Paul Byrne was delighted by the award: “We’re just now bringing the AMT to the European market in a substantial way, so it’s encouraging to receive validation from industry experts there.”

Precor and Suunto triumph in the Red Dot design competition

Red Dot is a renowned annual design competition arranged in Germany. Products submitted to the competition are thoroughly examined by a jury consisting of international design experts. Entries are assessed for innovation, functionality, ergonomics, durability, ecological compatibility, and ease of use. This year, a total of 3,203 entries were submitted from 51 countries. Both Precor and Suunto did exceedingly well in the competition. The Suunto Core received the Best of the Best award for product design. In the jury’s opinion, the Suunto Core is a versatile wristop computer, which is accessible to a wide range of users thanks to its moderate price. The jury characterized it as an intelligent, functional, and beautiful product. Adding to the Core’s success was the Red Dot product design award granted to Suunto Lumi, a wristop computer specifically designed for women. Precor’s AMT (Adaptive Motion Trainer®) fitness equipment was also honored with a Red Dot award. The AMT is the world’s first cardio fitness equipment that instantly adapts to changes in the user’s stride and pace.

Acclaim for Suunto t-series

The popular health and fitness website www.shapeyou.com has honored Suunto products. The Suunto t4 heart rate monitor got the Top Gear award, while the Suunto t1 and Suunto Foot POD were awarded with the Great Gear nomination. The Suunto t1 was praised for its friendly interface and useful features, including heart rate and calories burned. “It’s one of our most recommended monitors to our own clients,” said the assessors.

Praise for the R320 harness

The super-light R320 harness by Arc’teryx has made a big impression on the press. Rock and Ice magazine’s Gear Guide 2008 gave R320 a full five stars, describing the harness as near perfect for sport and traditional climbing, but also suitable for ice and alpine climbing. The Alpinist online service was lavish in its praise: “I’ve been using the Arc’teryx R320 for the past six months. It has everything I want in a harness – and nothing I don’t,” said blogger Eric Lambert. The Climbing magazine, in turn, highlighted the lightness and space-age comfort of the product. According to the magazine, the R320 differs clearly from other harnesses to its definite advantage.

Award-winning all-mountain ski

Salomon’s X-Wing Fury has won recognition in several ski tests this winter. Among many other honors, it was selected Ski of the Year 2008 by Ski Magazine in France and awarded a gold medal by Ski magazine in the USA. It’s not really surprising: Fury is a peppy ski off-piste yet stable enough for carving on groomed slopes.

Club of the year winner

The new Wilson Ci7 irons, winner of Golf Magazine’s Club of the Year for 2008, outperforms the rest of the competition in the game-improvement category. The Ci7 iron draws its inspiration from the award-winning Ci6 and improves upon it. It combines a tour-driven, mid-sized shape preferred by most golfers, and its advanced weight distribution creates high MOI and maximum forgiveness. A perfect blend of power and control.

Precor’s AMT cardio equipment recognized

Fitness facility professionals voted Precor’s revolutionary Adaptive Motion trainer (AMT) as best product of the Year and Precor as best Cardio equipment supplier. Adding to the stream of awards, Precor’s Cardio Theater line was nominated best in entertainment in the fi tness industry.

Precor honored in international design competition

Precor’s Experience Series® display earned Bronze Award recognition in the prestigious IDSA IDEA Awards 2007 competition in July. The new display integrates training data and personal entertainment in one cardio fi tness terminal. The IDEA Awards is considered the premier international competition for product/industrial design.

Precor fitness equipment on top again

Precor added to its already long list of awards when the American magazine Health named Precor’s S3.23 the best home gym. The magazine’s experts judged equipment on ease-of-use, accuracy, durability, style, and versatility. While traditional equipment limits or defi nes a user’s workout motion, Precor’s home gym lets users choose from a nearly limitless range – a feature that received special praise.

Salomon SpeedCross praised by Outside Magazine

The highly-respected U.S. magazine Outside presented the Salomon SpeedCross 2 trail running shoe with a fall season Gear of the Year award. Twice a year, Outside publishes an equipment guide that has become something of a bible for many outdoor enthusiasts. One of the magazine’s aims is to promote new technologies, which SpeedCross 2, for one, represents.

Suunto t4 claimed awards world-wide

In February 2007, the Suunto t4 beat 17 other heart rate monitors to win a Runner’s World ispo Award in Munich. Suunto’s t4 heart rate monitor was also one of fi ve fi nalists in the Accessories category of the international VOLVO SportsDesign AWARD.

Suunto outdoor wristops earned coveted recognition by US top publications

Suunto’s new Outdoor line received two prestigious awards, being recognized by National Geographic Adventure and Men’s Journal in their annual outdoor gear issues. The Suunto Lumi was recognized by NGA as 2008 Best of Adventure Gear while the Core was honored as Gear of the Year by Men’s Journal.

Atomic captured two European Ski Awards

The Atomic Hawx came out on top in the Ski Boots category at the ispo trade show in Munich in 2007. The jury commended the boots for their pioneering design and speculated that they would revolutionize the industry. In addition, Atomic’s new G2 Grip and Glide technology won the award for best cross-country skiing product. The G2 ski has a new type of grip base that doesn’t require waxing as well as a new base pattern that guarantees excellent gliding.

Arc’teryx reaped industry awards

It was a summer of industry accolades for Arc’teryx, which received awards including the Fredrickshafen OutDoor INDUSTRY AWARD (Silver) and the ISPO Performance Award. The Arc’teryx R-320 represents an entirely new generation of climbing harness.

Wilson Staff Di7 earned accolades

Wilson Staff Di7 irons claimed Golf Digest’s Hot List Silver Award, Golf Monthly’s Best on Test Award, and Golfi ng Magazine’s 2007 Player’s Choice Award.
