Houston YMCA group taps Precor for all fitness needs

With 38 locations in the Greater Houston area, the Houston YMCA is the third largest association in the U.S. Last year, nearly 900,000 people were served through value-based Y programs such as child development and education, older youth and teen programming, health enhancement, wellness, camping, sports and recreation, fellowship, community development, refugee settlement and affordable housing. One-third of all Houston YMCA members receive financial assistance.
Houston YMCA Clark Baker noted that Precor has been a strong supporter of the association’s mission of meeting the needs of underserved inner-city families and communities.
“We’ve had the good fortune to work with Precor for several years, and over time, they’ve come to understand and truly embrace our mission of serving the community,” said Clark Baker, Greater Houston YMCA president and CEO. “Certainly, the Precor equipment helps us deliver a fitness experience that delights our members, but beyond that, they’ve added real support to key initiatives that resonate with our mission to build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.”
The announcement of the Houston agreement closely follows similar arrangements with leading YMCA associations in Kansas City and Pittsburgh.
