Additional real-time features, new comfort belt, women’s designs and accessories widen the awarded training series further.

Suunto has added a multitude of new features and colors to its successful heart rate monitors. The new version of the awarded high end model Suunto t6 will soon display more real-time and instant training data and allow the athlete to customize the display to show the most needed training information.

The new Suunto Comfort Belt, comfortable textile heart rate belt will be attached to the most of new heart rate monitor models. The new belt stays snug to the body with unique traction strips, without having to overly tighten the strap. The closing mechanism is conveniently placed in front, which makes it easy to use. The extremely thin length-adjustment buckles minimize the risk of friction. The user can change the batteries easily and even hand wash the textile belt. Thanks to its light weight and textile form, the Suunto Comfort Belt is almost unnoticeable during exercise.

The Suunto t1, Suunto t1c, Suunto t3c and Suunto t4c models will have a special women’s collection. The new cycling accessory, Suunto Cadence POD, adds another desired measurement, cadence for cycling.

Suunto t6 is targeted for committed amateur and professional athletes. It measures the time interval between heart beats and its variations to produce seven different body parameters. By utilizing the accompanying software, an athlete can interpret this data to achieve a deeper analysis of training sessions. The new Suunto t6c shows many of these measurement results directly on display: the Training Effect, aerobic benefit of a workout or training session on a one-to-five scale, EPOC (Excess Post-exercise oxygen consumption), and calories burned. The user can also freely customize the display and choose which data he/she needs mostly for the current training. The new Suunto t6c comes along with the new Suunto Comfort Belt. With the help of sport-specific attachment PODs, Foot POD, Bike POD, GPS POD, Cadence POD and PC POD, the user can expand the heart rate equipment as needs evolve.

“I am using Suunto t6 for all the different sports I practise“, says Daniel Unger, German World Champion Triathlete. “I really love Suunto because of its enormous versatility. I get precise information on my heart rate in combination with altitude, but also speed and distance for running, cycling and via my GPS POD for all the other sports. Doing different sports is important to force my body to adapt to new tasks. Plus, it makes it more fun and prepares me for the hard challenges”.

Released in fall 2006, the Suunto t1, Suunto t3 and Suunto t4 heart rate monitors attracted industry and media attention for their stylish design and intelligent features. The new women’s collection of four models Suunto t1, t1c, t3c, and t4c offers more female adjusted heart rate monitors with the feminine straps, attractive colors and new designed button pushers. The new colors Suunto t1 Grey Mist, Suunto t1c Orange Flare, Suunto t3c Deep Green, Suunto t4c Black Frost, fit one’s total lifestyle from work to workout, training to travel.

The Suunto Cadence POD helps the biker to keep the pace by telling the cadence cycles per minute. This new accessory is suitable to the Suunto t3c, Suunto t4c and Suunto t6c heart rate monitors.

The new training products will be available summer 2008.
