Atomic triumphs in World Alpine Ski Championships '99
The Racing Team of Atomic, a subsidiary of Amer Group, performed successfully in the World Alpine Ski Championships in Vail. In all the Atomic Racing Team won 10 medals, including four gold ones. In different events a total of 21 Atomic racers placed in the Top Ten.
Atomic's top athletes were Hermann Maier (Austria) and Lasse Kjus (Norway) who tied for the first place in men's SuperG. Maier also placed 1st in downhill and Kjus won gold in giant slalom as well as four silver medals. Medals were won also by Hans Knauss (Austria), Steve Locher (Switzerland) and Christian Mayer (Austria).
Martina Ertl (Germany) placed 5th in women's SuperG and giant slalom as well as 10th in downhill.
The World Alpine Ski Championships in Vail (Colorado), USA ended on Sunday, 14 February.
