Amer Group's Atomic increases flexibility of its Altenmarkt ski factory

The seasonality of the production of alpine skis, cross-country skis, snowboards and bindings leads to the need to operate with a more flexible labour force at Atomic`s Altenmarkt factory in Austria.
Consequently, a total of 111 employees will have fixed employment contracts converted into part-time contracts in Autumn 1998. This measure will improve the Atomic brand`s and specifically the Altenmarkt production facility`s competitiveness against production facilities outside Austria.
`The concentration of the worldwide sporting goods trade is leading to an increased tendency to late orders and earlier shipments. Therefore we have to further improve flexibility in our production process and to avoid risk production`, says Dr Michael Schineis, CEO of the Atomic Group.
