Amer Group today purchased USD 640,000 of the convertible subordinated bonds issued in 1993, representing 28,780 Amer Group A shares

Amer Group today purchased USD 640,000 of the convertible subordinated bonds issued in 1993, representing 28,780 Amer Group A shares.

According to the terms of the bonds, all bonds purchased by Amer may not be reissued or resold. According to the Companies Act, these bonds may not be converted into shares.

On 31 December 1998 the amount of the loan outstanding was USD 35.9 million, representing 1,614,346 Amer Group A shares. During 1998 the Company repurchased a total of USD 37.85 million of the bonds, which would have represented 1,702,033 A shares. The repurchased bonds have been cancelled in accordance with the terms of the bonds.
