New General Manager for Wilson Golf

Luke Reese (38) has been appointed Vice President and General Manager of the Golf Division of Wilson Sporting Goods, a subsidiary of Amer Group. American-born Reese has been working for Amer Sports Europe in Munich for five years, most recently as General Manager.
Following Amer Group's decision to concentrate on seeking profitable growth, Barry Ryan, former Vice President and General Manager of Wilson Golf, will move to a newly created position, Vice President of Business Development.
Driven by its technologically advanced range of Fat Shaft golf clubs and Titanium golf balls, Wilson Golf has been especially successful during both the current and last year. Of Wilson's three divisions, Golf is the largest with net sales totalling EUR 211 million, approximately 70% of which were generated in North America last year. Wilson's total net sales in 1998, including the Racquet and Team Sports Divisions, were EUR 536 million with operating profits of EUR 31 million.
