Atomic will be the official sponsor of the Nordic Ski World Championships `99. The championships in Ramsau, Austria, are expected to be the biggest European winter sports event before the turn of the millennium.

Atomic, part of Amer Group`s Sports Division, will sponsor the 1999 Nordic Ski World Championships taking place in Ramsau, Austria. The event is expected to attract some 250,000 spectators between February 18-28.
During the event, Atomic will provide spectators with an opportunity to test the ARC Racecap cross-country skis used by its Nordic Team, which won a total of 31 medals at the Olympic Games in Nagano last year. In addition, Atomic will launch a brand-new cross-country ski construction produced by using state-of-the-art computerised technology.
Moreover, Atomic recently extended the contracts with its Nordic Team ski pools. The Atomic Team currently features almost 30 skiers, most notably Olga Danilova, Larissa Lazutina, Olena Petrowa, Mika Myllylä, Ricco Gross and Jari Mantila.
Mr Michael Schineis, President & CEO of Atomic Group, emphasises that cross-country skiing is and continues to be an important focus for the company. He is also confident that Atomic will be able to achieve the No. 2 brand position amongst cross-country ski producers worldwide by 1999.
