Nordic World Cup a success for Atomic

The Racing Team of Atomic, a subsidiary of Amer Group, was successful in the 1998-1999 Nordic World Cup. In all Atomic claimed 31 victories, 11 of which in Cross-country, 9 in Jumping and 11 in Nordic Combination. A total of seven Atomic male athletes ranked in the overall Top Ten in Cross-country Skiing.

In Cross-country, seven of the overall Top Ten male athletes had Atomic skis, including No. 2, Mikhail Botwinov, and No. 3, Mika Myllylä. In women, Nina Gavriljuk of Russia ranked No. 3 overall.

In Nordic Combined, the title was captured by Bjarte Engen Vik of Norway.

In Ski Jumping, Janne Ahonen of Finland claimed silver.

A total of 31 victories made Atomic the No. 2 ski brand in the World Cup. In addition, Atomic claimed 29 second-place rankings and 25 third-place rankings.

The 1998-1999 season in the Nordic Skiing World Cup ended on 21 March with finals in Holmenkollen, Norway and Zakopane, Poland.
