Amer Sports completes Precor divestment

Apr 02, 2021 By Amer Sports team 1 min read

On April 1, Amer Sports completed the sale of the shares and related Fitness business of Precor to Peloton − a NASDAQ-listed, leading interactive fitness platform.

After the completion of the sale, Precor will operate as a business unit within Peloton lead by current Precor Brand President Rob Barker. Peloton has demonstrated high interest and ambition for Precor, and the entire sale process was done in good collaboration between the Amer Sports, Precor and Peloton teams. Peloton is the largest interactive fitness platform in the world − with a community of more than 4.4 million members – and uses technology and design to connect the world through fitness.

The sale of Precor will not impact the results of Amer Sports continuing businesses. Amer Sports has reported its Fitness business as discontinued operations for the full year 2020.

“Precor has been a part of Amer Sports for 18 years. I want to sincerely thank the entire Precor organization for their contributions over the years. We strongly believe that Peloton is a great home for Precor and look forward to following the brand’s development in the future,” says James Zheng, Amer Sports Board Executive Director and CEO.
