Salomon opens brand store in Paris

Salomon has opened its first brand store in Paris. The 194 square meter retail location is located at 129 Boulevard St Germain and offers the very best of Salomon’s product range from ‘Head to Tip’ (of the skis). Visitors will find full men’s and women’s silhouettes for running, outdoor and winter sports activities, as well as Salomon’s new S/LAB Mesh customizable footwear range.

“To have such a premium location in our capital city of Paris in our home country is a major step for the brand,” said Jean-Marc Pambet, President of Salomon.

“Presenting the brand to the Paris audience in a prime location has been a goal of ours for quite some time. As an outdoor company from Annecy, we are proud of our French heritage and excited that this new retail location will allow us to better connect face-to-face with Parisians and offer a premium brand experience.”

Connecting with consumers in key cities

Salomon currently has 190 retail locations around the globe. Traditionally, many of those have been in areas that are close to the place of practice for outdoor sports. The new Paris location represents Salomon’s ongoing efforts to better connect with its core consumers in key cities throughout Europe.

With more and more city dwellers participating in outdoor sports in which Salomon is a global leader—such as trail running, hiking, and skiing and snowboarding—the brand expects to open additional retail stores in major European markets in the future.

After unveiling the brand’s new “Time to Play” positioning in 2016, Salomon applied this new identity to a number of its new and re-designed retail locations around the globe, including its Chamonix store in the heart of the French Alps. Like its brand stores in premier mountain communities, Salomon expects its Paris location to be a place from which various community activations are organized, including product testing sessions, group runs and unique experiences with Salomon athletes.

“People who run, ski and hike are not only in the mountains, they are in cities as well,” Pambet added. “In the future, we know that more and more of our target audience will reside in cities. This Paris location in one of the city’s most famous shopping areas and is also close to a number of city running routes that active Parisians frequent. So it’s a logical place to continue connecting with our audience.”

Authentic brand experience and premium service

Salomon branded stores are intended to offer the most authentic brand experience and premium service from knowledgeable staff. Video screens play Salomon TV episodes and the overall space is designed to better connect visitors to the local sports communities through various events and gatherings.

Depending on the season, visitors to the Paris store will find the very latest Salomon gear and apparel across running and outdoor categories, as well as hard goods such as alpine skis and boots. The store will also offer ski boot fitting services.
